Dr. Katherine Rahill was the Founder/Director of the Lunar Psychophysics Virtual Reality Laboratory at Catholic University of America. While earning her PhD, she worked under Dr. Marc Sebrechts, the Director of the Social, Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences for the National Science Foundation and former Chair of the Department of Psychology at CUA.
The LPVR lab consisted of over 20 undergraduate researchers, with a diverse number of majors and interests: Psychological and Brain Sciences, Pre-Med, Pre-Law, Nursing, History, Business, Biomedical Engineering, and Physics. Together, the lab excelled in analyzing topics within Lunar Psychophysics, such as complex particle light scattering, atmospheric light scattering, planetary physics, and the physiological and biophysical mechanisms of sensory perception in outer space.
